Linking Verbs

Welcome back! Here are the activities we did today in class:

1. Do Now: What are nouns, verbs and adjectives? Give an example for each part of speech.
A noun is.... An example of a noun is...
A verb is....An example of a verb is...
An adjective is...An example of an adjective is...

2. We learned about the subject verb agreement. 
3. We worked on our linking verbs in class.
4. For homework, a worksheet on helping verbs will be due on Thursday, September 10.

Hello students! It is the first day of the school year and I cannot be happier to be your teacher. I wanted to start the blog with an inspirational quote. The correct author of this phrase is John Bradshaw, and not Abraham Lincoln. We will learn throughout the school year about reliable sources, but for now, I think this is the perfect mindset we should be in at the beginning of the school year. Why? Because you're not going to be perfect. You will make mistakes, but it will not be the end of the world. The mistakes will help you grow and become better life long learners. I believe in you and if you need any help, I will be available. I am also not a mind reader, so please if you need help tell me. You can email me, or come talk to me during my office hours.

Vamos a aprender a lo largo del año escolar acerca de fuentes confiables, pero por ahora, creo que esta es la mentalidad perfecta que deberíamos estar al comienzo del año escolar. ¿Por qué? Debido a que ustedes no van a ser perfectos. Van a cometer errores, pero no va a ser el fin del mundo. Los errores te ayudarán a crecer y ser mejores aprendices de por vida. Creo en ti y si necesitas cualquier ayuda, estaré disponible. También yo no soy un lector de la mente, así que por favor si usted necesita ayuda dime. Usted me puede enviar por correo electrónico, o venir a hablar conmigo durante mis horas de oficina.
